I tweet, you tweet, we tweet. Recent research shows that the Netherlands has approximately 1 million active Twitter users. The average age of a Twitter user is 24.5 years. They divide Twitter users into seven categories. A brief description of each category:

The social star
This Twitterer is an active user. He or she has many followers. This is partly due to sharing powerful content and  brother cell phone list interacting with others. Well-known Twitter users who belong in this list are Brian Solis ( @briansolis ), Ann Handley ( @marketingprofs ), Jeremy Waite ( @jeremywaite ) and Mitch Joel ( @mitchjoel ).

The butterfly
This user engages in conversation with various Twitter users throughout the day. Twitter is their primary means of communication. The butterfly is active, social and shares good content. A high number of followers is a goal, but so is having as many followers as possible.

The distant star

Most Twitter users who fall into this category are celebrities. The distant star is more often off- than online. This user has influence, but prefers his or her privacy over sharing everything online with others.

The private eye
Research by Beevolve shows that approximately 12 percent of Twitter users have a  belgium numbers private profile. In most cases, these are women and active tweeters. A ‘lock’ does not mean that this user is not interesting to follow.
