On Instagram – the epicentre of the selfie revolution – there are currently more than 53 million photos tagged with the hashtag #selfie. In one week at the end of October, the word #selfie appeared in more than 368,000 status updates on Facebook. In the same period on Twitter, #selfie was used in more than whatsapp number list 150,000 tweets. And recently, the smartphone application Selfie has also been launched , which focuses on the narcissistic person. Incidentally, it is striking how much the word selfie has taken off. In 2012, according to Google Trends, it did not even appear on the Internet.
